Discretion and Preference
At the discretion of the Board of Directors and the Admission Committee of Cornerstone, the school grants preference to inner-city families exhibiting the greatest degree of economic need and those students who may receive the greatest benefit from the services available at Cornerstone – spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and/or physical.

Families' Financial Participation
Cornerstone shall require of parents or guardians, a financial commitment consistent with the school’s approved tuition schedule, which is income-based. Families are expected to fulfill their financial commitments on time; otherwise, their standing at Cornerstone will go before the Admissions Committee for action. When considering these difficult situations, the Admissions Committee is always sensitive to personal circumstances, exhibiting biblical grace and remaining prayerful over the impact of its decisions.

Cornerstone’s goal is to serve those students who can be successful in a classroom setting with a teacher to student ratio of 1:14 in preschool, 1:16 in kindergarten and first grade, 1:18 in second thru fifth grades, and 1:20 in the sixth thru eighth grades. The school is not prepared to deliver services to children with significant special educational needs.

Administration of the Policy
The Admissions Committee, chaired by the Chief Academic Officer, is responsible for administering the admissions policy. The Admissions Committee shall consist of no less than three members – such members are mutually approved by the Principal and the Executive Director. The committee has the authority to determine if it is in the best interest of the school and the child to enroll a child or allow a child to remain at the school.
